Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician IV (S) to train and supervise offenders in maintaining and repairing sign manufacturing equipment and related plant systems. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in two or more mechanical or building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require EPA certification (Type I, II, III or Universal) as per Title 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise offenders in troubleshooting, manufacturing, rebuilding, and repair of sign manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect and maintain safety equipment such as fire, sprinkler, and smoke detectors.
• Develop and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for multiple pieces of equipment.
• Participate in the plant safety committee and coordinate with safety personnel to resolve issues.
• Obtain quotes for equipment and repairs; supervise two medium-security offenders in related tasks.
