Job summary

Skeleton Technologies GmbH in California, US, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Automation Engineer to lead automation and controls for high-volume manufacturing. You will define standards, integrate CMMS, and drive reliability initiatives across production lines.

You will review designs, mentor technicians, work with suppliers, and ensure safety and cyber-security alignment with IEC 62443. Requires 8+ years in maintenance/automation and a strong track record on ramp-ups and OEE improvements.

Qualifications

8+ years in maintenance, automation or controls engineering in high-volume manufacturing.
3+ years in a senior or lead role.
Experience with automation standards and site automation.
Hands-on experience with production-line ramp-up.
Fluent English and ability to work with international suppliers.

Responsibilities

Review automation and controls designs for maintainability and spare-parts strategy.
Define site automation standards (PLC, HMI/SCADA, drives, networks).
Support installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning and troubleshooting.
Set up CMMS and define asset hierarchy, maintenance plans and spares.
Lead RCA, 5-Why, FMEA to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
Mentor maintenance technicians and junior engineers.
Ensure safety compliance including LOTO and Cal/OSHA.
Collaborate with IT for OT cybersecurity per IEC 62443.
