Job summary

TCI is seeking a Mainframe Systems Engineer for an onsite, full-time role in Louisville, KY. The candidate will lead planning and design of the organization's systems infrastructure and resolve highly technical issues across multiple projects, focusing on IBM z/OS, CICS, and DASD.

The role requires mentoring staff, designing scalable infrastructure, and driving availability, performance, and recoverability improvements. Travel and on-call duties may be involved depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, or mathematics.
• 5-7 years with IBM z/OS mainframe systems (install, configure, support, troubleshoot).
• 3+ years of IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS.
• 5-7+ years of z/OS administration including system installation and vendor software.

Responsibilities

• Supports mainframe environment hardware and software (IBM z/OS, CICS, DASD, tape drives).
• Ensures systems meet business requirements, monitors performance, suggests improvements.
• Verifies and reviews system-related documents and reports including installation procedures.
• Develops and designs infrastructure and platforms, including operating systems, storage, databases.
• Leads DR planning and testing initiatives; provides 24-hour on-call support as needed.
