Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Engineer to join a leading technology organization. The role is based in Chandler, AZ, with hybrid work options and cross-team collaboration across IT and engineering groups.

You will design, implement, and maintain z/OS infrastructure, drive automation, and develop runbooks to ensure reliability and security in enterprise environments. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience configuring, maintaining, and supporting the z/OS operating system.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining system utilities, exits, and automation using REXX and BAL/Assembler.
• Hands-on experience administering z/OS UNIX System Services (USS), including file system management, permissions, scripting, and zFS configuration.
• Experience configuring and supporting JES2, including job class definitions, initiator management, spool tuning, and workload controls.
• Strong knowledge of TSO/ISPF, including panel usage, utility execution, and operational support.

As a Senior Mainframe Systems Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Mainframe Operations Department supporting enterprise-level mainframe infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to system optimization, which will align successfully in the organization.

• Design, engineer, and maintain z/OS platform tools and services in accordance with enterprise standards, governance, and security policies

• Hands-on experience administering z/OS UNIX System Services (USS), including file system management, permissions, scripting, and zFS configuration
• Experience configuring and supporting JES2, including job class definitions, initiator management, spool tuning, and workload controls
• Strong knowledge of TSO/ISPF, including panel usage, utility execution, and operational support
