Our client, a leader in financial services, is seeking a Sr. Mainframe Assembler Developer to join their team.

The position is a 12+ month contract with high possibility of extension or conversion, located in Charlotte, NC / Addison, TX, with a hybrid work model (3 days onsite). Responsibilities include supporting and enhancing IBM z/OS assembler applications, diagnosing issues, maintaining JCL and batch environments, and collaborating on system upgrades in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

8+ years of IBM Mainframe application development and production support.
Deep expertise in Assembler (HLASM) programming, JCL development, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Connect:Direct (NDM), ISPW, CA7 scheduling, and TSO/ISPF environment.
Proven ability to support high-volume financial transaction systems in high-availability environments.

Responsibilities

Support and enhance high-volume, high-availability mainframe applications written in IBM z/OS assembler language.
Analyze complex assembler codebases to diagnose and resolve production issues efficiently.
Maintain and troubleshoot JCL, GDGs, and batch processing environments to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, platform changes, and process improvements.
Support check/image item processing and payment platforms within a regulated financial environment.
