Job summary

Office of the Illinois Secretary of State is seeking an Information Systems Advisor I – IBM Storage Replication Admin to manage and maintain mission-critical IBM mainframe VTS tape and SAN infrastructure at the Springfield location. You will install, configure, monitor, and administer the backup environment and replication systems for disaster recovery and failover.

The role requires senior-level expertise in mainframe storage, z/OS, and related replication software, with a capacity to work

Qualifications

Requires two years of college in computer science and four years of experience with technical systems or IT projects.
Experience with mainframe storage, replication, and DR environments preferred.
Strong knowledge of z/OS and storage software and processes.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage DASD and VTS storage resources for performance and availability.
Configure and maintain IBM VTS backup and HP SAN replication environments.
Provide technical guidance to junior staff and coordinate with vendors for installations and upgrades.
Develop runbooks and procedures for disaster recovery and high availability.
Participate in DR testing and ensure data integrity across replication pathways.
Support incident resolution and root-cause analysis for storage-related issues.
