Responsibilities

1. Analyze and configure Mainframe DASD storage availability, SMS constructs, ACS routines.
2. Monitor, support, maintain, and enhance storage, backups, and data replication for Sysplexes.
3. Identify causes of DASD space concerns and configure capacity accordingly.
4. Modify SMS and ACS code as required.
5. Monitor DASD storage performance and space availability.
6. Perform catalog reorganization and manage data set retention and HSM parameters.
7. Fulfill SNOW ticket requests related to storage administration.
8. Support and configure IBM Mainframe storage management disciplines.
9. Review and manage storage thresholds, backup schedules, and data replication resources.
10. Document issues, resolutions, and system status updates.
11. Support disaster recovery plans and collaborate with other technical teams.
12. Provide DASD and tape storage administration support for customers.
13. Manage storage pools across multiple clients and LPARs.
14. Perform problem diagnostics, recovery, and create backup jobs.
15. Support 24/7 operations across time zones and interact with vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience with z/OS, z/VM architectures, and DASD storage.
• Knowledge of JES3, JES/EJES, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, DFSMS, Capacity Management, VTAM, JCL.
• Hardware knowledge including IBM TS7700 series, EMC, VMAX.
• Experience with installation and usage of IBM TS7700 and EMC replication software.
• Support for 24/7 operations across multiple time zones.
• Knowledge of MS Teams, SAS, SMF, RMF, and data manipulation via ISPF commands.

Education:

• Master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related field with 10 years of relevant experience, or 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.

Clearance:

• Ability to pass Tier 4/HIGH Background Investigation.
