Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA), is seeking a RACF Architect Consultant for a CONTRACT assignment with a premier Financial Services client. This position is fully remote.

The role leads assessment and architectural design of RACF/USS security solutions on z/OS, defines target-state architectures, and guides engineering teams through build, validation, and deployment. Ideal candidates have 12+ years of mainframe security experience and expert RACF/zSecure knowledge.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of related experience as a mainframe security architect or senior engineer.
• Expert-level knowledge of IBM RACF and IBM zSecure.
• Deep expertise in z/OS UNIX System Services (USS) security.
• Lead solution architecture activities and produce design documentation.
• Proficiency with JCL, REXX, and CARLa for automation.
• Experience with TSO, ISPF, SDSF and related tooling.
• Knowledge of DB2, SQL and related databases.
• Experience with authentication, encryption, MFA, and key management.
• Understanding IAM best practices and privileged access management.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment, scoping, and architectural design of RACF and USS security solutions.
• Define target-state architectures and design documentation; guide engineering teams through build and deployment.
• Support deployment, documentation, and training for security operations.
• Assess feasibility and recommend approaches meeting security, audit, and resiliency requirements.
• Collaborate with development, security owners, DB2, CICS, and audit teams.
• Create and maintain security monitoring and reporting using zSecure, MFA platforms, and key management.
• Monitor KPIs and propose improvements.
• Serve as SME on RACF, USS, and z/OS security controls.
