Job summary

Morgan Stanley in Atlanta is seeking a senior RACF engineer within the Mainframe Security team to design, implement, and support mainframe security solutions across complex IBM Z environments. This role emphasizes authentication, authorization, encryption, privileged access and data protection, with a focus on reliability and audit readiness.

You will partner with Security Architecture, Engineering, and Operations to test designs, deploy changes, and train security operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience as RACF/security engineer or senior mainframe administrator.
• Hands-on knowledge of IBM RACF and IBM zSecure with configuration, internals, reporting and administration.
• Proficiency with JCL, REXX, and CARLa for automation, reporting and tooling.
• Experience with z/OS utilities and databases including DB2/Sybase/SQL.
• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management and least privilege concepts.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and support mainframe security initiatives related to authentication, authorization, encryption and privileged access.
• Collaborate with Mainframe Security Architecture and Engineering to develop and validate technical solutions.
• Support deployment of security solutions, including documentation and training for security operations.
• Assess feasibility of security designs, ensure audit and resiliency requirements are met.
• Coordinate with application development, security product owners and operations to implement solutions.
• Create and maintain monitoring, automation and reporting using RACF, zSecure and related tools.
