Job summary

Pride Global seeks an experienced RACF Architect Consultant to lead security solutioning across the IBM Z platform. The role requires deep hands-on RACF, zSecure, and USS security expertise, shaping target-state designs and guiding cross-functional teams through implementation.

The consultant will coordinate with security, engineering, and operations to ensure secure, resilient mainframe environments, with potential off-hours support for project implementations and production changes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of related experience in mainframe security architecture and delivery of RACF/USS solutions.
• Expert-level hands-on knowledge of IBM RACF and IBM zSecure, including configuration, internals, reporting, and administration.
• Deep expertise in z/OS UNIX System Services (USS) security, including UNIXPRIV and least-privilege access models.
• Ability to lead solution architecture activities and produce target-state designs and documentation.
• Proficiency with JCL, REXX, and CARLa for automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, scoping, and architectural design of RACF and USS security projects.
• Define target-state architectures and create design documentation; guide build, validation, and implementation.
• Support deployment of security solutions with process changes and training for security operations teams.
• Assess feasibility and trade-offs of proposed solutions to meet security, audit, and resiliency needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement security solutions.
• Create and maintain security monitoring, automation, and reporting using IBM zSecure and related tools.
• Monitor security health and advise on improvements; act as SME for RACF, USS, and z/OS security controls.
