ManpowerGroup Global, Inc. is seeking a Mainframe IMS Application DBA to join our client’s Database Support Department in Phoenix. You will manage IMS databases, support Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB, and ensure high availability across the enterprise.

The role demands 7+ years of IMS DBA experience on z/OS with Sysplexed Data Sharing, strong knowledge of IMS utilities, and hands-on backup, recovery, and performance tuning. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IMS DBA experience in z/OS with Sysplexed Data Sharing.
• Strong knowledge of IMS types, utilities, and maintenance activities.
• Hands-on experience with IMS utilities, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, REXX, and batch/online IMS environments.
• Experience troubleshooting IMS abends, data corruption, and integrity issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise setting.
• Support and maintain IMS database types including Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB.
• Perform database administration activities such as definition, allocation, and dataset management.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with application development, system programmers, and operations teams to ensure database integrity and efficiency.
