Job summary

M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with wealth/trust domain experience to enhance the Trust Reporting systems and drive modernization of the mainframe and DevOps tools. You will design, develop, and support batch processes, mentor juniors, and collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

This role is hybrid, four days onsite with one day from home.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor degree with systems analysis or development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience with mainframe tools and batch processing.
• Strong SDLC and DevOps/CI/CD familiarity for mainframe workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high quality batch solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into solutions.
• Ensure deployment and environment promotion align with SDLC practices.
• Support and optimize mainframe workflows and tooling.
