Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the development of the Tech 360 Platform in Buffalo, NY. This role will provide technical leadership for scalable technology reporting solutions across the enterprise, shaping performance, risk, cost, delivery, talent, and business value.

You will design, develop, and deliver cloud-native enterprise applications, APIs, and data pipelines, mentoring engineers and collaborating with security and architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with required years of experience.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Angular and/or modern front-end development experience.
• Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native development experience.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation experience.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications in one or more programming languages.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs, responsive web applications, ETL solutions, and scalable database systems.
• Author organized, clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable source code at an advanced level in one or more programming languages while applying appropriate data structures and algorithms to solve business problems.
• Lead implementation of cloud-native solutions leveraging Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and deployment.
• Define and implement API and integration strategies across enterprise platforms.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence, resiliency, and operational best practices.
• Participate in Agile and/or SAFe delivery teams, contributing to planning, estimation, execution, and continuous improvement activities.
• Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
