Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 DBA to join our enterprise database team in Salt Lake City.

You will ensure performance, availability, security, and reliability of IBM DB2 for z/OS environments and collaborate with application teams, QA, DevOps, and offshore resources to design, administer, tune, and support large-scale production databases powering core business applications.

Qualifications

6+ years of hands-on Mainframe Database Administration.
Strong expertise in IBM DB2 for z/OS administration and support.
Experience with DB2 utilities including RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, and UNLOAD.
Experience tuning SQL and resolving access path and performance issues.
Working knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
Experience coordinating with offshore teams and providing technical guidance.

Responsibilities

Design, create, and maintain DB2 databases, tablespaces, indexes, views, storage groups, and related objects.
Translate logical data models into efficient physical database designs.
Execute DDL implementations and manage schema changes through complex ALTER activities.
Implement and maintain Universal Table Spaces (PBG/PBR).
Design indexing strategies to optimize access paths and overall database performance.
