Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments, ensuring high availability and performance across critical systems. You will lead database tuning, backup/recovery, DR planning, and automation initiatives, collaborating with development, infrastructure, and support teams in a 24x7 on-call model.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of Db2 z/OS experience, strong SQL skills, and a proven track record in large mainframe

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and production support.
• 3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools, Query Monitor, OMEGAMON, and Db2 utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, SPUFI).
• 3+ years advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, and index management in Db2 z/OS environments.
• 3+ years JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and 24x7 production on-call support in large-scale mainframes.
• 1+ year designing or supporting database replication in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases in production and non-production environments.
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, access path analysis, and index recommendations.
• Develop and implement automation to improve DBA processes and legacy support.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and DR testing.
• Support Db2 Function Level upgrades, version migrations, RSU maintenance, and utilities.
• Respond to database incidents and change requests while on 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Provide technical consultation to development, infrastructure, and application teams.
