Job summary

Dexian is seeking a seasoned DB2 DBA for Tallahassee, FL, on-site, for a contract through June with possible extensions. The role focuses on daily DBA activities, performance tuning, and design of database structures.

The candidate will mentor staff and maintain procedures and documentation while ensuring robust disaster recovery readiness. Required is at least 12 years of experience with DB2 for z/OS, including integration, catalog maintenance, maintenance, and strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL,

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of DB2 database administration experience (z/OS).
• Strong knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration and performance management.
• Experience with upgrading DB2 for z/OS and catalog maintenance.
• Familiarity with z/OS subsystems, CA GEN, ISPF and COBOL.
• Solid understanding of disaster recovery planning and infrastructure change management.

Job Title: DB2 DBA
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL (on-site)
Job Duration: Contract through June + extensions
Job Tasks and Activities:

• Daily operational and database administration activities
• Plan, design, implement, support for database structures
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
• Perform SQL Code reviews
• Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested

Required Experience:
The candidate must have at least 12 years experience in database administration with DB2 for z/OS

Preferred Experience:

• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management and data base administration
• Advanced knowledge of upgrading DB2 for z/OS
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS catalog maintenance
