Motion Recruitment is seeking a Mainframe Cybersecurity Software Engineer in Plano, TX to modernize a long-established low-code platform used by large enterprise customers.

You will work across COBOL, C, Java, z/OS, Linux and Windows, with hands-on secure software engineering and distributed-systems experience. The role includes mentorship and customer engagement, shaping product direction and security leadership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong background in secure software development and secure coding practices.
• Expertise developing enterprise applications on z/OS and mainframe platforms.
• Strong programming skills in COBOL, C, and Java.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications while maintaining security and reliability.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, cryptography, and secure application architecture.
• Experience implementing secure communications and TLS-based solutions.
• Understanding of hybrid environments spanning mainframe and distributed systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and software design skills.
• Bachelor's degree required.
