Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Mainframe Developer to design, build, and operate applications powering Asset Services. You will develop COBOL batch and online processing, work with CICS, DB2, MQ, and JCL within an Agile team in a contract setting.

The role emphasizes SDLC adherence, production support, and collaboration across squads. Minimum 5–7 years of mainframe experience is required, with a strong focus on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of mainframe development experience.
• Proficient in COBOL, Batch JCL, CICS, DB2, and MQ.
• Experience with IBM DB2 performance tuning.
• Familiarity with an enterprise job scheduler.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online processing.
• Design and optimize DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Implement IBM MQ messaging for inter-system communication.
• Perform JCL scripting for job scheduling and troubleshooting.
• Ensure alignment to SDLC and release management processes; assist production migrations.
• Collaborate in Agile squads; provide estimates and participate in sprint planning.
• Support production environments, including incident triage and resolution.
