Job summary

Pacer Group in Camarillo, CA is seeking a Machinist Senior to operate conventional and CNC machining centers on semi-complex jobs from blueprints and planning sheets. You will perform machine setups, adjust tooling, and ensure quality parts through precision inspection and SPC awareness.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of related machining experience, strong problem-solving, and a collaborative approach to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related machining experience.
• Ability to set up and operate multiple production machines.
• Experience operating conventional and/or numerically controlled machining centers.
• Read and follow blueprints, specifications, planning sheets, route sheets, and verbal instructions.
• Independently perform machine setups.
• Knowledge of machining operations including cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming.
• Install and adjust cutting tools based on material type and machining requirements.
• Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to produce quality parts.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments including gauges, calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
• Ability to use magnification equipment, including microscopes, for inspection of precision parts.
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Ability to work with limited guidance in a team environment.
• Understanding of SPC requirements and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple production machines.
• Perform machining operations including cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming.
• Follow established manufacturing methods with standard production machines, materials, and tooling.
• Make necessary machine adjustments and report improper machine functioning.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement.
