Job summary

Framatome-North-America in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a skilled machinist to produce conventional machined components and tooling to precise tolerances, inspect peers, and train junior operators. You will apply calculations, lay out work, and select efficient cutting parameters for conventional machining.

Responsibilities include complying with plant rules, maintaining records, and identifying process improvements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year machining technology certificate preferred.
• Completion of a four-year apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce moderately to highly complex conventional machined components/tooling to precision tolerances.
• Inspect work of other machinists as directed by supervisor.
• Train and assist lower classification machinists as directed by supervisor.
• Comply with plant work rules and maintain records.
• Identify and elevate operations problems with objective options.
• Produce complex conventional machined components/tooling to extreme precision tolerances.
• Handle hazardous materials properly.
