Job summary

GE Vernova, Greenville site, is seeking a Machinist III to perform advanced setup and machining on gas turbine components. You will operate a range of manual and CNC machines, interpret blueprints, and ensure tight tolerances with robust quality practices.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, handle equipment safely, and support production within a high‑precision environment. Eligible to work in the U.S. and pass required screenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years machining experience in a machine shop environment.
• Advanced experience setting up and operating manual, conventional, and CNC machines.
• Experience with milling, turning, grinding, boring, and EDM.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and specs to maintain tolerances.
• Independent troubleshooting of machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs with PPE as required.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a wide range of manual and CNC machine tools for complex machining.
• Machine components using mills, drills, grinders, broaches, and lathes.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to meet tolerances.
• Apply temperature compensation for large components.
• Select tooling and measuring devices to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
• Operate forklifts and cranes as trained.
• Identify and fix machining/setup issues to maintain flow.
• Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Own compliance, safety, quality, and productivity in area.
