Job summary

CONMED seeks a Senior Machinist to set up and operate advanced CNC machinery, including 4- and 5-axis mills and Swiss machines, to produce close-tolerance medical device parts. The role emphasizes validating new set-ups, first piece runs, and in-process inspections.

You will maintain tight tolerances, adjust offsets for accuracy, and train less experienced staff. Strong reading of G/M codes and process optimization are valued. This is a on-site position within our manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment.
• Experience on Swiss lathe and mill machines with live tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and Lathes with live-tooling and operate multi-axis CNC equipment.
• Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at set rates.
• Verify/validate new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts.
• Perform in-process and first piece inspection.
• Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure conformance to tolerances.
• Provide training to less experienced employees.

Job description

As a Senior Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. A major area of responsibility for this role will be the set-up and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts, with an emphasis on verifying and validating new set-ups for production and first piece runs.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operationPerform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspectionComplete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict toleranceProvides training and technical training to less experienced employees.Work Experience Requirements:Two of the following requirements:Minimum of 2-4 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment. Examples of advanced equipment include Swiss.
