The position requires 8+ years in manufacturing engineering or related fields, with strong knowledge of functional safety systems, risk assessments, and capital improvement execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in an engineering discipline related to automation or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of machine safety standards and risk reduction.
• Experience leading safety programs and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the site's Machine Guarding Program and machine safety initiatives.
• Conduct machine risk assessments and develop engineered risk reduction solutions.
• Lead machine safeguarding, remediation, and capital improvement projects to improve safety and productivity.
• Maintain ownership of the Site Master Machine List and ensure equipment inventories stay current.
• Validate functional safety systems including Safety PLCs, PL/SIL calculations, and safeguarding solutions.
• Develop and oversee corrective action strategies including equipment upgrades or new machine procurement.
• Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and lifecycle management for new equipment.
• Lead lifecycle management activities including installation, modification, relocation, modernization, and decommissioning.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, ISO 12100, ISO 13849, IEC 62061 and related standards.
• Collaborate with the site machine safety team to train stakeholders and drive program improvements.
