Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Senior Machine Operator in Sioux Falls, SD to lead advanced operation, setup, and optimization of plastic film production equipment. You will troubleshoot, mentor junior operators, and uphold safety, GMP, and HACCP standards.

The role requires independence, urgency, and ownership to improve yields, reduce scrap, and maintain consistent production performance across shifts. You will collaborate with maintenance, QA, and supervision to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of Machine Operator experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to independently run and troubleshoot production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Equipment Operation - Set up, operate, adjust, and optimize extrusion, air, ring, printing, and downstream equipment to meet production and quality targets.
• Safety Leadership - Model and reinforce safety behaviors; perform daily inspections and correct unsafe conditions; support investigations and corrective actions.
• Quality Oversight - Perform and validate quality checks, troubleshoot defects, mentor operators on specs and SOPs.
• Production Efficiency - Lead changeovers and startups; identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and raise yields.
• Advanced Troubleshooting and Maintenance Support - Diagnose complex issues and assist maintenance with root cause analysis.
• Training and Mentorship - Train new and developing Operators and Packers; collaborative team support.
