Job summary

Our client in Wisconsin is seeking a Machine Operator II to support a 3rd shift in their metal fabrication operations. The role involves operating and setting up various metal-forming machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring first article inspection compliance to meet specifications.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED (plus apprenticeship or equivalent), strong attention to detail, and proficiency with English safety rules, ERP systems, and MS Office to access production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to operate and set up metal fabricating machines (Brake Press, Turret, Hairpin, Fin Press, Expander, etc).
• Strong attention to detail with ability to perform first article inspection and verify conformance to blueprints.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; read and interpret safety rules and drawings.
• Experience with ERP systems and MS Office for lookup of blueprints and production orders.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform basic set ups with minimal supervision on metal fabricating machines to cut, bend, shape, drill, and form metal work pieces to meet specifications and support continuous production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specs, drawings, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, sequence of operations, and material requirements.
• Complete first article inspection and detect/report defective materials or questionable conditions to support quality and conformance to work orders and drawings.
• Follow safety processes and maintain a clean, organized work area by using proper PPE, understanding JSA’s, applying 5S practices, and complying with all facility safety regulations.
• Collaborate across departments and shifts by communicating clearly with co-workers, coordinators, utilities, and management; report issues related to safety, quality, processes, equipment, and materials.
