Job summary

Agero, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to advance our ML initiatives. You will develop and deploy cutting‑edge algorithms to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction metrics.

You will lead ML projects end-to-end, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and mentor junior staff while staying abreast of ML advances and best practices. Remote onboarding travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of software development and design experience.
  • 3–5 years working with Machine Learning systems.
  • 3–5 years of AWS services (ECR, S3, SageMaker).
  • 5+ years experience in Python with Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn.
  • Experience building large, complex systems including web services and RESTful APIs; CI/CD.
  • Tree-based models, DVC, Airflow and/or SQL are a plus.
  • Strong communication and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Lead full lifecycle of ML projects from ideation to deployment and maintenance.

Role Description and Mission

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer plays a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of our machine learning initiatives. This position is pivotal in developing and deploying cutting‑edge algorithms and models to enhance our operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction metrics.

Key Outcomes
  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to optimize operations and service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, conduct feasibility analysis, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of machine learning projects, from ideation through to deployment and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in machine learning, including model evaluation, validation, and monitoring.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in machine learning applications and processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in machine learning techniques and technologies to recommend improvements and new approaches.
Skills, Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software application development and design experience.
  • 3-5 years experience working with Machine Learning systems.
  • 3-5 years of experience with AWS services (ECR, S3, SageMaker).
  • 5+ years experience in Python (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience building large, complex systems, particularly web services, RESTful APIs, and continuous integration and delivery.
  • Experience with tree based models, DVC, Airflow and/or SQL are nice to have.
  • Understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with other teams.
  • Motivated to understand the nuances of data and its impact on the business.

The base salary range presented represents the anticipated low and high end salary range for new hires in this position. Your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as work location, experience, job related skills, and relevant training and education. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package provided by Agero to employees.

National Pay Range: $133,800 USD - $180,600 USD
