Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Math.
• 6+ years of M&A experience with a Transaction Advisory Services group corporate development, investment banking or private equity firm.
• Experience leading multiple transaction teams, often in parallel, with the mental agility to adapt, make progress and address issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Expert-level financial and accounting skillset, including income statement and balance sheet presentation, GAAP reporting, quality of earnings, working capital and cash flows analysis.
• Mastery of historical performance, forecasting, valuation and transaction structure modeling.
• Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skillset with the ability to present at an executive level.
• Travel and work schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation of M&A targets to synthesize their business offerings and strategic value to UnitedHealth Group.
• Lead development of synergy models, valuation analyses (DCF, comparables), and EPS accretion/dilution analyses.
• Manage the due diligence process coordinating across internal teams of subject matter experts.
• Drive financial due diligence to assess earnings quality and project performance trajectory.
• Review transaction terms and develop negotiating positions for senior team members.
• Present M&A opportunities and findings to senior leadership in written and verbal formats.
• Identify and evaluate industry trends and inorganic growth opportunities for executives.
• Mentor and coach junior team members to develop M&A proficiency.
