McGuireWoods LLP is seeking an experienced attorney to advise on employment matters at the intersection of employment law, executive mobility, and corporate transactions in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.

The role focuses on counseling corporate clients and private equity sponsors on issues arising from acquisitions, leadership transitions, and post-closing integration, coordinating with Healthcare, Private Equity, and M&A teams across the firm.

• The role focuses on sophisticated matters at the intersection of employment law, executive mobility, and corporate transactions, distinct from traditional employment law.
• The team advises on high-stakes matters where workforce decisions directly affect enterprise value, leadership continuity, and transaction success.
• Counsel corporate clients and private equity sponsors on employment issues arising from acquisitions, divestitures, leadership transitions, restrictive covenant disputes, and post-closing integration, collaborating closely with the firm's nationally ranked Healthcare, Private Equity, and M&A teams.
• Work involves strategic advisory, risk assessment, transactional counseling, and crisis management in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.
• Responsibilities include counseling clients on workplace policies, employment compliance, employee relations (including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour issues), and restrictive covenant and wage misclassification issues.
• Lead employment-related due diligence in corporate and private equity transactions, encompassing risk identification, prioritization of risks, development of practical mitigation strategies, and supervision of junior associates.
• Independently manage complex employment matters and transactional workstreams.
• Advise senior executives and corporate leadership on sensitive personnel, leadership transition, and governance issues where discretion and strategic judgment are essential.
• Provide mentorship and developmental support to junior associates through substantive guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities for increased responsibility.
