Job summary

Venturi Astrolab, Inc. (Astrolab) is seeking a Sr. Mission Operations Engineer in Hawthorne, CA to develop mission operations concepts for crewed/uncrewed lunar rover programs. You will coordinate with NASA, drive ConOps, and guide mission readiness in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

You will lead simulations, training, and operational planning, ensuring safe, efficient surface missions and robust anomaly handling across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in aerospace mission operations or a related field.
• Experience supporting flight missions, mission control centers, or other complex operational systems.
• Experience developing operational procedures, mission timelines, and other mission documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a Mission Concept of Operations (ConOps).
• Define operational strategies for lunar surface traverses and activities.
• Develop mission timelines, command plans, and operational constraints.
• Establish operational requirements and provide input during design.
• Monitor health and performance using telemetry and data.
• Coordinate anomaly response and recovery during operations.
• Lead simulations, training, and mission readiness activities.
