Job summary

BP seeks a Senior Technologist to lead field trials, support new business development, and provide technical leadership across lubricant projects. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to address product needs, optimize formulations, and ensure successful trials.

The position demands a science or engineering degree, fluent English, and broad knowledge of BP's lubricant products. Hybrid working and up to 25% travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Science or engineering degree or equivalent.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Experience in lubricant development and formulation modification/support.
• Broad knowledge of BP's lubricant products, composition, manufacture and application.
• Understanding of interfaces across sales, marketing, supply chain, product development, and research within Castrol teams.
• Builds networks to enhance effectiveness and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Provide central technical support to product areas and trials.
• Advise on product, application, specification, formulation, and raw materials.
• Support tenders affecting multiple countries and OEM approvals.
• Manage raw material shortages and regulatory issues across countries.
• Resolve customer issues escalated by Technology Deployment Hubs.
• Oversee field trial issues, fluid management, and site execution.
• Communicate technology progress, claims capabilities, and new product opportunities.
• Build networks and coach colleagues to improve performance.
