Job summary

Uber Freight is seeking a Sr. Transportation Procurement Analyst to lead LTL sourcing, pricing, and carrier procurement for complex networks. The role combines advanced analytics with negotiation and execution, partnering with internal teams and carriers.

This is a hybrid position based in Uber Freight Centers of Excellence. The candidate will develop sourcing strategies, evaluate carrier proposals, and implement cost- and service-optimized transportation solutions while driving procurement

Qualifications

Proven ability to analyze complex customer shipment data, lane-level pricing, carrier proposals, accessorial impacts, service requirements, and other variables to develop sourcing recommendations.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills for large datasets, pricing comparisons, bid result summaries, and tradeoff analysis.
Experience in LTL pricing components including tariffs, discounts, minimum charges, FAK structures, fuel, and service coverage.

Responsibilities

Independently manage LTL procurement and pricing initiatives for prospective and existing customers, including data prep, carrier bid development, sourcing execution, analysis, negotiation support, award recommendations, and implementation.
Analyze complex shipment, pricing, service, and network data to identify cost and service opportunities and develop actionable carrier sourcing recommendations.
Evaluate carrier proposals across line haul, fuel, accessorials, freight classification, minimum charges, service coverage, and transit time to determine total-cost and service tradeoffs.
Develop and communicate sourcing scenarios and recommendations balancing customer requirements, carrier capabilities, and financial objectives.
Partner with LTL carriers during sourcing events to clarify requirements, resolve pricing/service issues, negotiate opportunities, and facilitate bid participation.
Identify opportunities to strengthen carrier portfolio by evaluating capabilities, network fit, pricing, service performance, and customer requirements.
Develop and standardize analytic tools, sourcing methodologies, reporting, and processes to improve procurement accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor procurement and carrier performance via KPIs and post-award analysis and propose corrective actions.
Provide expertise on carrier pricing, service capabilities, contracts, accessorials, and sourcing strategy to Operations, Pricing, Sales, and other stakeholders.
Translate complex transportation data into clear recommendations for customers, internal teams, carriers, and leadership.
Share knowledge and best practices to advance the team’s LTL sourcing capabilities.
