Job summary

Central Transport in Vandalia, OH is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a designated section of the terminal dock. You will oversee unloading, forklift traffic, and the sorting of palletized freight while maintaining safety and performance standards.

You will manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to meet production schedules, apply independent judgment to build loads, and ensure accuracy of cube and weight.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
• Solid understanding of LTL trucking industry and dock operations.
• Ability to coach, train, and mentor employees while driving results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• Unloading, forklift traffic management, and proper palletized freight sorting oversight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgement to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Monitor cube and weight to ensure proper carrier loading.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock staff.
• Ensure safety and compliance with DOT/OSHA standards and company policies.
