Job summary

Reliance Matrix is seeking an experienced claims examiner to adjudicate long-term disability claims and related benefits. You will analyze information from claimants, employers, and medical sources to make accurate determinations in a high-volume environment.

You will manage 60-80 complex cases, apply policy provisions to determine eligibility, and provide respectful customer service while meeting productivity and quality standards. Travel is none; salary is disclosed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates preferred; LOMA Level I designation preferred.
• 5 years experience processing long term disability claims.
• Advanced understanding of claim management techniques and critical thinking.
• Experience working in confidential/protected identification environments.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent math and calculation skills.
• Proven ability to work well in a high-visibility, public-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicates long-term disability and related claims based on policy terms.
• Reviews and investigates disability claims via phone and written contact.
• Calculates benefit payments including partial and survivor benefits.
• Maintains on-line claim data and paper files.
• Provides respectful, prompt customer service.
• Case management of 60-80 complex cases.
