Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Sr. Molding Engineer (LSR and HCR) to lead the development, validation, and optimization of silicone and rubber molding processes at our Lincolnshire, IL site.

You will work across Injection, Transfer and Compression molding to drive capability, reduce cycle times, and ensure stable manufacturing performance. The role requires 5+ years in silicone/rubber molding, expertise with LSR/HCR processes, and strong skills in DOE, SPC, and design of experiments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 5+ years direct experience in silicone/rubber molding preferred.
• Experience with LSR and HCR molding is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize LSR and HCR molding processes (injection, compression, transfer) using DOE and scientific molding principles.
• Set robust process parameters including injection profiles, pack/hold, cure cycles, and thermal controls to improve Cp/Cpk.
• Troubleshoot complex molding defects (flash, short shots, voids, knit lines, shrinkage) using root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with tooling and maintenance to qualify molds and ensure validated equipment performance.
• Drive continuous improvement for cycle time reduction, scrap minimization, and Lean/Kaizen.
• Support NPI through mold trials, process qualification, and production transfer.
