Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Lincolnshire, IL is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to drive molding process development and optimization for liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and high consistency rubber (HCR).

You will partner with tooling, production, quality and NPI teams to improve cycle times, reduce scrap and ensure robust manufacturing performance. The role emphasizes DOE, SPC, troubleshooting and hands-on process discipline to deliver repeatable, high-quality molded components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Plastics, Polymer) required.
• 5+ years of direct experience in silicone/rubber molding with strong understanding of LSR/HCR.
• Experience with DOE, SPC and statistical tools for process improvement.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, CAD models and regulatory specs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex molding issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and optimize molding processes for LSR injection, HCR injection, compression and transfer molding.
• Collaborate with Tooling, Production, Quality, NPI and Maintenance teams to ensure successful product launches and consistent quality.
• Lead DOE studies to improve process capability (Cp/Cpk) and reduce variation.
• Create standard process parameter sheets, recipes and work instructions.
• Provide technical training to operators and technicians on molding best practices.
