AE Works is seeking a hands-on leader for our low voltage practice. You will set the technical direction for Division 27 communications design and, as the team grows, Division 28 electronic safety and security, on healthcare, veterans' health, higher education and federal projects.

You will lead the designers, own quality and standards for the discipline, develop people, and be the face of low voltage to owners.

Qualificações

• Active BICSI RCDD certification.
• 12+ years designing low voltage systems in A/E/consulting, incl. 3+ years leading designers or QA/QC.
• Proven experience supervising, mentoring and developing designers.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with Bluebeam and MS Office; set and enforce BIM/drawing standards.
• Working knowledge of BICSI, ANSI/TIA, NEC and NFPA standards and applying them on healthcare, higher ed and federal projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; explain technical choices to owners, architects and engineers.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and between Pittsburgh and Arlington offices.

Responsabilidades

• Lead AE Works' low voltage practice: set the technical direction for Division 27 communications design and Division 28 electronic safety and security.
• Mentor and develop a team of low voltage designers and engineers; plan training and certification paths.
• Own QA/QC for every low voltage deliverable; ensure coordination and code compliance.
• Set, maintain and enforce discipline standards; train the team on BIM/drawing standards.
• Lead projects from schematic design through construction administration; manage RFIs and submittals.
• Be the technical lead to owners and IT/facilities staff; gather requirements and explain system choices.
• Coordinate low voltage with electrical, architecture, mechanical, structure and owner IT teams early in design.
• Forecast staffing and workload; manage fee, scope and schedule; flag additional services.
• Support pursuits: scope/price low voltage services, write approaches, join interviews.
• Stay current on codes/standards and fold changes into guides and templates; represent firm externally.
• Represent the firm at client meetings and professional organizations such as BICSI.
