Job summary

Owen Daniels in Chicago, IL is seeking an FPGA Engineer to join a team working on low-latency FPGA designs tied to proprietary trading and finance. The role requires a strong understanding of software and hardware interaction and the full development lifecycle.

Full lifecycle duties include system and block level testing, RTL design, verification, timing analysis, bring-up and validation. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 5–10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5-10+ years industry experience
  • Proficient in FPGA simulation and synthesis tools
  • Familiarity with ModelSim, QuestaSim, Vivado, Quartus
  • Networking interfaces – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, Ethernet, TCP/IP, PCIe, MIPI, SerDes
  • Embedded C, C++, Python, Linux Bash TCL – Bonus
  • Schematic capture and PCB design and debug
  • FPGA development lifecycle across RTL design, verification, synthesis, timing analysis, and bring up/validation
  • Experience in low-latency financial markets or trading environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills, communication and teamwork
