Job summary

Pekin Insurance is seeking a Senior Loss Control Consultant to support profitable growth of its Commercial Lines portfolio. The role offers risk evaluation across Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers' Compensation, with travel within Chicagoland and northern Illinois.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Underwriting, Agents, and insureds to drive account performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, Business or related field (preferred).
• Typically requires 5+ years of experience in commercial lines loss control, risk engineering or safety consulting.
• Prior loss control experience with a commercial insurer or agency.
• Experience with multi-line commercial exposures (property, liability, auto, workers' compensation).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive loss control evaluations for prospective/existing commercial accounts across multiple lines.
• Identify hazards, evaluate exposures, and recommend data-driven risk improvements.
• Prepare clear reports outlining risk quality and underwriting suitability.
• Provide technical guidance on risk improvement strategies tailored to operations.
• Assist underwriting in evaluating new submissions through surveys and exposure analysis.
• Develop service plans aligned with underwriting strategies and client needs.
• Analyze loss trends and performance to identify root causes and prevention strategies.
