Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Logistics Area Manager to drive the business plan for a designated area, forecast staffing needs, and supervise associates and leaders. The role emphasizes training, development, and adherence to Walmart's policies and safety standards.

The position entails extensive interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring continuous process improvements, data-driven decision making, and cost controls within the distribution network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field; plus 1+ years in operations/distribution/logistics or retail environments with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload and participating in hiring/promotion.
• Preferred: background in business, logistics, management or operations with finance exposure.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and in writing to drive and implement the business plan for the area of responsibility.
• Forecast staffing workload and performance results to meet business demands and monitor compliance with logistics, quality and safety standards.
• Supervise and manage associates and leaders, provide feedback, identify training needs, and support development.
• Ensure associate, customer and supplier concerns are resolved using judgment and escalation when needed.
• Participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, and evaluation of associates and managers; model Walmart policies and procedures.
