Hohmann & Barnard Inc., part of Marmon Holdings and backed by Berkshire Hathaway, seeks aShipping and Receiving Manager to lead warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation operations. You will drive efficiency, safety, and accuracy while coordinating with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

The role requires five-plus years of leadership experience in logistics, strong knowledge of WMS/TMS, and the ability to optimize freight, inventory, and labor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Five or more years of progressive experience supervising warehouse, shipping, receiving, or transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, distribution processes, and best practices.
• Experience managing LTL, flatbed, full-truckload, and multi-stop transportation.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, and related tools.
• Proven ability to negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers, brokers, and 3PLs.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license and PPE awareness.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation services.
• Strategically manage shipping and receiving operations in alignment with company policies and service expectations.
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance oversight for all shipping and receiving personnel.
• Develop work schedules, assign resources, establish priorities, and evaluate results to support safe and efficient operations.
• Design and maintain effective warehouse layouts and material-flow processes to maximize space, productivity, and safety.
• Oversee stock control and inventory reconciliation, ensuring accurate transactions and data-management alignment.
• Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including LTL, flatbed, FTL, and multi-stop shipments.
• Evaluate freight rates, accessorial charges, transit times, carrier capacity, and service performance.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers, brokers, and 3PLs.
• Monitor carrier and 3PL performance, address service failures and freight claims, and implement corrective actions.
• Travel approximately 10% to support facilities and customer meetings.
• Perform additional projects and assignments as directed.
