Job Description

Peterson Power Systems seeks a Senior Project Logistics Analyst at our Hillsboro, OR location.

Summary

The Senior Project Logistics Analyst manages the shipping of engines and packages from manufacturers to packagers and customer sites. This role collaborates with the Mission Critical Project Management Team, transportation and packaging companies, and customers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant deliveries according to laws, regulations, contracts, and company policies.

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate with manufacturers and transportation providers to meet delivery schedules and ensure correct shipment details.
• Monitor pickups and deliveries, confirming timing and documentation, and transmit relevant information to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, laws, regulations, and policies.
• Identify and resolve logistical bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
• Track RTS dates, delivery statuses, and logistical data.
• Manage shipment costs to optimize freight expenses.
• Work with manufacturers like Caterpillar to address RTS delays.
• Coordinate with packagers and inspectors to maintain certification compliance.
• Maintain accessible logistical data for the Project Management Team.
• Report delays, deficiencies, and issues promptly.
• Handle Bills of Lading and insurance claims for damaged shipments.
• Assist in onboarding new haulers with the Purchasing and Contract Review teams.
• Manage storage agreements and coordinate the departure of stored engines and packages.
• Travel up to 45% as needed for site visits, vendor meetings, and certification processes.
• Maintain punctual and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and at least six years of logistics or project management experience, or equivalent education and experience.

• Experience with permitting and dispatching heavy haul & oversized loads is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Logistics Certification preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
• Relevant coursework towards certification is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
