Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta is seeking a Collateral Risk Analyst to evaluate mortgage loan collateral across residential, multi-family, CRE, HELOC/second, and farmland portfolios. You will ensure compliance with Bank policies and provide guidance to junior staff.

The role requires strong mortgage underwriting knowledge, attention to detail, and proficient use of Excel and Word. Travel, including overnight stays, is expected, and onsite work with partial remote flexibility is available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or real estate with a minimum of six years in residential/commercial real estate analysis, lending or underwriting is required.
Master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and underwrite mortgage loan collateral including residential, multi-family, CRE, HELOC/second, and farmland loans to ensure quality and policy compliance.
Lead department meetings to identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements.
Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets, models, and collateral software systems for analysis and monitoring.
Review work by third-party contractors and guide delegation and prioritization of collateral verification reviews.
Provide guidance to junior Collateral Risk Analysts on policies and practices.
Interact with member institutions daily to interpret collateral policies and asset eligibility.
Conduct exit meetings with senior management summarizing verification findings.
Assist management in formulating bank policies and procedures.
Assist in developing systems/software to analyze and monitor member financial data and collateral information.
