Job summary

Inclusive Action for the City, a nonprofit CDFI in Los Angeles, seeks a Senior Loan Officer to underwrite loans, prepare credit memorandums, and manage borrower relationships. You will help expand referral networks and shape lending processes to better serve borrowers, with a focus on community economic development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, mathematics, or public policy.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in lending underwriting or loan officer roles.
• Experience in small business or real estate lending; CDFI experience is a plus.
• Experience with financial and credit analysis; preparing credit memorandums.
• Ability to manage borrower relationships with a customer-centric approach.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, Excel, and presentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite loans, determine client needs, and balance risks with fiduciary duties.
• Manage borrower relationships through underwriting, ensuring timely approvals and closings.
• Educate borrowers to ensure a smooth customer experience during underwriting.
• Prepare detailed written credit memorandums with analysis and terms.
• Present loan packages to Loan Committee with clarity and confidence.
• Coordinate multiple underwriting projects and site visits as needed.
• Facilitate hand-offs between teams: closing, servicing, and coaching.
