Job summary

Scribe Therapeutics seeks a Senior Scientist to provide hands-on leadership for research-scale LNP formulation and nonviral delivery for genome-editing therapeutics. You will own formulation workflows, lipid sourcing, and rigorous datasets guiding preclinical programs, including mRNA and gRNA packaging.

The role requires deep formulation science, strong experimental execution, and ability to translate physicochemical data into development recommendations, with cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, bioengineering, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Experience evaluating LNPs at physicochemical and biological levels, including size, PDI, encapsulation, stability, and in‑vivo activity.
• Experience with analytical techniques like LC‑UV, LC‑CAD, DLS, SEC‑MALS, Osmolality, pH, fluorescence, UV‑vis, LC‑MS‑MS, and gel electrophoresis.
• Ability to design rigorous experiments and translate results into clear program decisions.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as hands-on technical lead for nonviral delivery, owning design, execution, optimization, and characterization of research-scale LNP formulations for genome-editing payloads including mRNA and gRNA.
• Build and improve robust formulation and analytical workflows, including lipid selection, composition, cargo loading, buffer exchange, storage, and stability assessment.
• Use rigorous experimental design to generate reproducible datasets and troubleshoot issues with scientific independence.
• Characterize formulation attributes like particle size, encapsulation, and stability, and relate to biological activity.
• Lead cross-functional studies to connect LNP attributes with cell activity, biodistribution, and in‑vivo outcomes.
• Translate datasets into clear recommendations for formulation advancement and preclinical development.
• Benchmark emerging delivery technologies and identify risks and opportunities to influence strategy.
• Maintain records and communicate conclusions to project teams; mentor junior scientists as needed.
• Collaborate with Drug Product and CMC teams on scale-up and technology transfer as programs advance.
