Job summary

Chubb Ltd. is seeking a Senior Lower Middle Market New Business Underwriter in the Troy/Grand Rapids area.

This field-underwriting role focuses on new revenue generation for multiline accounts, reviewing, triaging, underwriting, and quoting submissions to secure binds while complying with Chubb standards. You will collaborate with Field Underwriting, Distribution and Operations to ensure seamless processes and superior service delivery, while cross-selling lines and managing agent relationships

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years commercial lines underwriting experience.
• Proven ability to use technical analysis and underwriting skills to profitably grow new business revenue.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated record of teamwork and integrity.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite multiline business including Package, Umbrella, Workers Compensation, Auto and ancillary lines per established strategy and authority.
• Cross-sell additional lines of business to maximize revenue per account (P&C, Multinational, Financial Lines, Cyber, Accident & Health).
• Collaborate with local Business Development Managers to identify growth opportunities within agencies.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with assigned agents to drive profitable growth.
• Manage desk planning and forecasting for the assigned book of business.
