Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an LLM Engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions. You will collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready generative AI capabilities.

You will work across LLM/SLM development, fine-tuning pipelines, and model optimization to meet performance and cost requirements while aligning with responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software/AI engineering.
• 2+ years deploying Generative AI/LLM/SLM in production.
• Experience building enterprise AI apps with LLMs, RAG, prompts, APIs.
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, fine-tune, deploy, and optimize LLM and SLM solutions for enterprise-scale use cases.
• Develop and maintain supervised fine-tuning, model adaptation, and evaluation pipelines.
• Apply model optimization techniques including LoRA, QLoRA, distillation, quantization, and model compression.
• Assess models based on quality, cost, scalability, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise AI solutions using approved datasets.
