Job summary

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries Inc. is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to support our Chef in managing daily kitchen operations for a senior living community in Greenfield, WI.

You will assist in menu planning, food preparation, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure high-quality meals and a safe, clean environment. The role runs from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with occasional evening and weekend events.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen.
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred OR 3-5 years of high-volume culinary experience.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing daily menus.
• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and monitor food costs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary needs.
• Monitor kitchen equipment, cleanliness, and maintenance.
• Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents.
