ALG Senior in Flat Rock, NC is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in planning, preparing, and serving high-quality meals for residents and guests. This role ensures nutrition standards, dietary needs, and safety guidelines are met while contributing to a positive dining experience and overall quality of life in the community.

You will lead daily kitchen operations, supervise staff, assist with menu planning, manage inventory, and uphold sanitation.

Qualifications

• Prior culinary leadership in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and dietary restrictions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Collaborate on menu planning, incorporating resident preferences and dietary requirements.
• Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
• Uphold regulatory standards and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Contribute to a welcoming and efficient dining experience that reflects ALG Senior’s standards of excellence.
