Job summary

Aspire Senior Living in Springfield, MO, is seeking a compassionate Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house therapy team. You will evaluate residents with communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing impairments and develop individualized treatment plans to improve function and quality of life.

The role collaborates with nursing and dietary staff, documents progress, and supports resident independence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Missouri.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
• 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred; skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of dysphagia management, swallowing disorders, and cognitive-communication therapy.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized, resident-centered treatment plans.
• Provide skilled therapy for speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Assess and treat dysphagia while promoting safe swallowing and reducing aspiration risk.
• Recommend appropriate swallowing strategies, dietary modifications, and assistive communication techniques.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication, swallowing, and safety strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, dietary, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in care planning, resident conferences, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries.
• Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with applicable professional, regulatory, and facility standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Missouri SLP license

CCC-SLP (certification) preferred
