Job summary

Fleet Landing is seeking an RN for the 7AM-7PM shift to supervise floor nursing care for residents. The role follows approved medical procedures and complies with facility policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will direct daily nursing activities, participate in policy development, and coordinate with physicians. Florida licensure and CPR certification are required, with geriatrics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed Registered Nurse with Florida license.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Experience in a convalescent home, skilled nursing facility, or general hospital with supervisory abilities.
• Geriatrics experience preferable.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day nursing activities on the floor per current rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Participate in development and maintenance of policies and procedures, and ensure they are followed by nursing staff.
• Participate in inspections, make recommendations, hold staff meetings and interpret policies to staff, residents and visitors.
• Develop work assignments, delegate to the Staff Nurse, and make daily rounds, review complaints and grievances.
• Review nurse notes, rounds, resident visits and medication/treatment schedules.
• Review MARs and TARs for completeness.
• Consult with residents' physicians and notify attending physician and next-of-kin when there is a change in condition.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary, start IVs, obtain specimens, and authorize restraints in emergencies.
